Balettt

Images of ballerinas and nutmeg filled the boy’s mind. He’d always wondered what being pulling out of a burning building would feel like. Pain everywhere, trapped in a web of pestilence, all of his mind now lost in the flames, flooded in pin-pricks of a thousand fire ants biting at his face. His face would make nuns and popes gag, such a vile face, once beautiful, now the equivalence of decrepit goblins and underground mole people. Vesicles the size of elephant tusks being unraveled on the boy’s face.

Salcation

Slap this decrepit face,
I need some reassurance,
To let me know that someone will come for me.

Sleep has been my only comfort,
It’s getting old,
No longer can I find safety in closed eyes.

This loneliness has used up it’s vacancy,
a notice of eviction,
Stapled right through my eyes,
No more beating around the bush,
I will find,
Salvation,
Hidden in you’re words tonight.

They puncture my veins,
Sucking me dry,
Bites taken for kisses mark my body for the taking.

All I can do is wait with my hands risen.
And hope to God someone takes me in.
